Investing in Innovation (i3) Grant Opportunity

August 5, 2010 – i3 Grant Recipients Announced

Although we are disappointed that the KCM’s proposed Primary Grades Intervention Program – 2 has not been selected as a 2010 i3 winner, we will continue to work toward earning future federal or state grant awards and providing service and resources for the benefit of Kentucky’s kids.  We congratulate Jefferson County Schools on receiving an i3 Development Grant award.  http://www.ed.gov/news/press-releases/nations-boldest-education-reform-plans-receive-federal-innovation-grants-once-pr

The Kentucky Center for Mathematics is seeking schools interested in partnering on an Investing in Innovation grant.  If successful the i3 grant would provide funds to train and support a new cohort of Mathematics Intervention Teachers (MITs). For an overview of the grant proposal, view our flyer.  For a more detailed description of what we have in mind for this grant and what would be involved for partner schools/school districts, we invite you to review the draft RFA.

If after reviewing the flyer and draft RFA, you are interested in partnering with us on this grant, we would invite you to submit a letter of support (a statement of intent to apply) to the KCM for us to include with the i3 grant application.  Letters of support are not limited to one school per district; any interested school may submit a letter.  We recommend that both the principal of the school and the district superintendent sign the letter (see Guidelines below).  Should funding be received, a final RFA will be issued at a later date and schools will be selected through that application process.
