AdMIT Meetings

Leadership teams from current MAF (Mathematics Achievement Fund) schools, comprised of the mathematics intervention teacher, primary grades classroom teacher, the intermediate grades classroom teacher, and the principal, will engage in professional learning activities and collaboration focused on high-fidelity, evidence-based mathematics teaching practices leading to positive impact on intervention students and other classroom teachers.

This one-day professional learning experience fulfills a Mathematics Achievement Fund grant requirement for principals and MITs. 5 hours of EILA credit will be available.

**IMPORTANT NOTE: Mathematics intervention teachers, primary grades classroom teachers, the intermediate grades classroom teachers, and the principals should each register separately for this meeting date. It is possible that registration will become full before the close date, and therefore, it is advised that all attendees register sooner rather than later to ensure a secured spot for each member of the leadership team.

Comprehensive Course for Intermediate

This course provides an opportunity for classroom, special education and intervention teachers of students in Grades 3-5 to learn strategies and acquire tools to assess and advance students' mathematical reasoning. Aligned to research-based teaching practices and KAS, topics will include number and operations, place value, fractions and fractions operations, algebraic reasoning and the use of fluency assessments to identify student need. Participants will receive books, activities and instructional materials.

As this is an intensive professional learning experience, participants will be expected to attend all 10 dates of this course.

KMIT
For replacement MITs utilizing Number Worlds, Do the Math, Assessing Math Concepts ONLY

KMIT is a numeracy-based professional learning experience for new and/or replacement MITs utilizing Do the Math and Assessing Math Concepts intervention programs. Participants will learn how to diagnostically assess student understanding and how to design or choose instructional tasks to foster student understanding. Participants will also be supported by current MITs in grant specific intervention programs.

KNPI (KY Numeracy Project Intensive) / AVMR (Add+Vantage MR)

This course is built around Add+Vantage Math Recovery and is designed for elementary grades teachers to learn and practice assessments and teaching strategies for advancing students' foundational number knowledge, including addition and subtraction and multiplication and division.

Please note, a minimum of 6 participants must register in order for this training to take place. In the event that the minimum number has not been reached, registered participants will be alerted and will be given the opportunity to join another KNPI cohort, if one should be available.

Kentucky Numeracy Project Intensive includes 10 days of training spread over 4 sessions. KNPI also requires 3 in-person collegial team meetings, which will be scheduled at the discretion of the facilitator and training participants.

MRIS (Math Recovery Intervention Specialist)

This is the KCM's most rigorous learning experience for elementary grades teachers who deliver intensive mathematics intervention and who help students at different ages and ability levels. Completing this course is also the route to becoming a Math Recovery Leader, SNAP (Student Numeracy Assessment Progressions) Facilitator, and/or Add+Vantage MR Champion.

Mathematics Recovery Intervention Specialist includes 10 days of training spread over 3 sessions. MRIS also requires 4 in-person collegial team meetings, which will be scheduled at the discretion of the facilitator and training participants.
