Research opportunity for those districts using Connected Mathematics, 2nd edition
A nationally recognized research group is asking for schools using Connected Mathematics, 2nd edition that might be willing to participate in a three-year study examining the curriculum's impacts on students. There are incentives to participate.

Connecting the Program of Studies, Core Content for Assessment, and Depth of Knowledge
The Northern Kentucky Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Elementary Mathematics and Science Alliance invite you to a fall workshop.

This workshop will be led by Jim Austin. Jim was formerly in Curriculum and Development for KDE. He is currently District Curriculum Coach for Bullitt County Schools.

At this workshop, Jim will lead a discussion on connections between the Program of Studies and Core Content for Assessment. The discussion will also address Depth of Knowledge for Mathematics.

Dr. Liping Ma to Speak at the University of Kentucky
Dr. Liping Ma, Senior Scholar at The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and author of the book "Knowing and Teaching Elementary Mathematics”, will be giving a presentation at the University of Kentucky on Thursday, September 28 at 4pm in Room 114 of the Whitehall Classroom Building. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet a well-respected scholar in the field of mathematics education.
