Number Words and Numerals

  • More Number Strips

  • Counting by 1s and 10s      
  • Counting by 1s beyond 100      
  • These Jamboards are similar to the Jamboard "Numbers Strips within 100" but extend to numbers beyond 100 and skip counting by 10s. The first Jamboard targets counting by 1s. The second Jamboard is a mix of counting by 10s and 1. Each includes a final frame that has hundred charts in the ranges 101-200, 201-300, etc. that can be sequenced or used to discuss patterns within a hundred family.

  • Number Cards with Frames

  • The board contains a choice of frames (with 3, 5 or 10 empty spaces) and various ranges of number cards. One suggested use is to place a single card in the frame, then ask a student to place the remaining cards.

  • Each board contains 4 number strips, each with one anchor number. Ask students to use the cards on the right to fill in the number strips. Boards vary both in range and in the location of the anchor numbers.

  • Each board contains 4 number strips, each with one anchor number. Students use the cards on the right to fill in the strips. Boards vary in number range and the location of the anchor number. On earlier boards, number strips stay within a decade family, while later boards cross decade families. The final board is customizable.

  • Discriminating Numerals

  • In this activity, students are asked to sort multiple copies of 2-3 numerals. By sorting numerals that are frequently confused (such as 12 & 21 or 6 & 9), students learn about critical attributes of the written numerals and learn to distinguish between the numerals.

  • Number Chart Jigsaw Puzzles

  • In this activity, students assemble jigsaw shaped pieces of a number chart. It includes 3 different puzzles. The first spans the numbers 1-30. The second two puzzles, when assembled, make a 100 chart.

  • Reversed 120 Chart: Strips and Puzzle

  • A reversed 120 chart starts with the ones at the bottom and works upward to 120. This Jamboard includes a virtual reversed 120 chart cut into horizontal strips, vertical strips, and jigsaw pieces.   • Numeral Recognition Mazes

  • This Jamboard consists of a series of mazes solved by looking for a specific target number or category of numbers. For example, the image above shows the maze consisting of 6s. This Jamboard includes mazes for 5, 6, 7, 8 , 9, 12, 13, 14 and teen numbers. This activity supports students in learning to identify numbers and is especially useful when students are confusing two or more numerals.
